About Event

Got tools sitting at home you barely use—or standing in the store aisle thinking, "I should know this"? You are not alone, and you are not behind.

Most women were never actually shown how to use tools in a way that builds real confidence. So jobs get put off, tools sit unused, and small repairs feel bigger than they need to be.

Join Tammy Watson—founder of Canadian Handywoman and Home & Farm editor for Harrowsmith—for a 3-hour, hands-on intensive designed to take the fear out of your toolbox.

Designed by women, for women, this session gives you the time, space, and support to get your hands on the tools, try things out, and build real skill—not just watch someone else do it.

No pressure, no rushing, and no one taking the tools out of your hands. Because once you stop guessing, you start seeing your home as something you can handle.

🛠️ What You’ll Learn & Practice

You will learn the anatomy, safety, and proper hands-on technique for essential tools:

  • Power Tools: Drills & Impact Drivers (holding, controlling, and driving screws cleanly without stripping heads or slipping).
  • Hand Tools: Screwdriver, Allen keys, Hammer, Pry bar, Tape measure, Level, Pliers, Wrench, and Painter’s tool.
  • Fasteners & Materials: Wood types, screw grades, drywall anchors, and picking the right hardware for the job.
  • The Hands-On Build: Put it all together by building a small take-home project so you leave with practical muscle memory!

💡 What to Expect

  • Small Group Focus: Strictly limited to 6 participants so everyone receives dedicated, side-by-side coaching.
  • Practice Making Mistakes: Test things out, make mistakes (the good kind!), and learn how to correct them in a safe, zero-judgment space.
  • Real-World Skills: This isn't about formal trade certification or complex renovations—it's about practical, real-world confidence in your own home.

✅ This Workshop Is For You If:

  • You are a homeowner or renter tired of feeling unsure about basic repairs.
  • You handle things on your own and want to build real self-reliance.
  • You have used tools before but still second-guess yourself.
  • You want to stop putting off small fixes around the house.

(Note: This session is not intended for licensed tradespeople or those seeking formal vocational certification.)
